'Unable to create a directory' message installing dtSearch

Symptoms

When installing dtSearch, the following message appears: "Unable to create a directory under ___. Please check write access to this directory."

Cause

Adobe Acrobat 4 is installed on the machine and you attempted to install dtSearch Adobe Acrobat (PDF) indexing support. Versions of dtSearch prior to dtSearch 5.2 are not able to install the dtSearch Adobe Reader plug-in for Adobe Acrobat 4.

Resolution

Obtain dtSearch 5.2, a free upgrade from dtSearch 5.11, from www.dtsearch.com.
