Small files (2 Mb or less) can be sent by email to tech@dtsearch.com.
Larger files may not work when sent via email, so please
use one of the following alternatives:
(1) You can use a browser-based interface to send the files from this page:
http://dropbox.yousendit.com/dtSearch
(2) You can upload them to our public incoming FTP site at ftp://support.dtsearch.com/incoming (see below)
(3) If you have an FTP site, you can post the file on your FTP site and email the location of the file to tech@dtsearch.com.
Please ZIP the files to ensure they arrive exactly as they are on your computer, and use a ZIP file password if the files are confidential. While we have taken steps to make our FTP "incoming" folder secure, a strong ZIP password will provide additional protection for your data.
Please send an email to tech@dtsearch.com when the file is posted so we know to copy the file and remove it from the FTP site.
"Access Denied"
The "incoming" folder is set up to allow public "write" access but no "read" access, so you will get an "Access Denied" error if you try to browse the incoming folder. The write-only access prevents other users from accessing your data after it has been posted. The write-only access is also necessary to protect our servers against abuse by companies that use open FTP sites to post illegal video and music files (a problem that we encountered repeatedly before we implemented the write-only access policy).
Using Internet Explorer for FTP
To use Microsoft Internet Explorer to send a file to our FTP site,
1. Open Internet Explorer
2. Enter the address ftp://support.dtsearch.com in the navigation bar
3. Open Windows Explorer
4. Arrange the windows so that you can see both Internet Explorer and Windows Explorer at the same time.
5. Find the file you want to upload in Windows Explorer
6. Drag the file from Windows Explorer onto the Internet Explorer window using the mouse, and drop it over the "Incoming" folder in Internet Explorer. Because of the security settings on our server, you may not be able to open the "Incoming" folder in Internet Explorer to confirm that the file was posted successfully. See the "Access Denied" note above for additional information.
